Podiatry/Chiropody resides in the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of health problems affecting the foot and lower limbs.

A podiatrist's main aim is to improve mobility, independence and quality of life for their patients.
Our lifestyles, footwear and how active we are all influence our risk of foot problems; your general health may adversely affect your feet. Some common examples are diabetes, arthritis, poor circulation, stroke and osteoporosis. In fact, your podiatrist may be the first to recognise a serious health problem by examining your feet. Foot pain has a multitude of causes; a podiatrist can assess your problem and treat it appropriately.

Yasmin Ryan obtained her Honours Degree in Podiatric Medicine from the University of Westminster in 1996. Since then she has had a wealth of experience working in the NHS and private sector, working in numerous clinical environments including high risk hospital settings, health centres, GP surgeries, crisis homeless centres, mobile units, residential nursing homes and patient homes. She has also worked in private practices in Croydon, Putney, Wimbledon and more recently, The Leigham Practice in Streatham. Yasmin is fully registered with the HCPC (registration no: CH13125), the Healthcare Professions Council, which is a regulatory body for 16 other health professions.

In order to be registered with the HCPC, a practitioner must have undertaken a minimum level of undergraduate education and also demonstrate Continual Professional Development (CPD). This ensures skills are maintained and patients can feel sure the practitioner is professionally qualified. Yasmin is also a member of the Society of Chiropodists and Podiatrists. Yasmin is passionate about her work and is committed to providing excellent patient care. She regularly attends courses to update her skills and remain at the forefront of her profession.
